Worthington Estate

Worthington Estate Community Information

OPENetworks has been appointed to deliver a superfast broadband fibre to the premises (FttP) network compliant with NBN government policy to Worthington Estate in Stages 3 to 6. OPENetworks is now very busy preparing for the fibre network deployment and to assist us with getting you connected as efficiently as we can, we need you to confirm that your premise is “Fibre Ready".

Update to the connection process (November 2016)
OPENetworks has now completed the network infrastructure to the estate and have also prepared the communications room that will service the estate. We are now only waiting for power to be provided to the communications site and we will commence connections. OPENetworks is working closely with the developer to have the power supplied as soon as possible.

We will be contacting all residents once we have a date for the power and will send out connection request "windows" to those residents that are ready for connection. You will be able to nominate a window of time on a given day in order to have the home connected to the fibre network. More information will be available soon in regard to this to allow residents as much time as possible to be available for the connection.

All homes in Stages 3 to 6 can request a FREE connection to the fibre network by simply registering your details below and also submitting a few photo’s of your home as detailed below.

Why we need this?

1. Communications Enclosure

With door open showing the cable termination and the fibre draw string

This cabinet should be located inside the home and should not have any equipment inside. We need to ensure that there is enough room in the cabinet for our optical device (ONT) and we also need to ensure that we can plug into your home cabling network plus power. (if applicable)

2. Cable entry point outside the home showing the conduits and termination junction box.

Your home should have a conduit that runs from the communications pit in the street to a wall junction box. Inside this conduit will be a rope that we will pull the fibre from the street to the outside wall of the home.

3. Open junction box showing the conduits and draw strings

When we see inside the junction box we should be able to confirm that there is a rope from the street but also a another conduit with a rope to pull the fibre to the enclosure inside the home.
