OPENetworks – first open access, wholesale only FTTH and FTTP network operator
After the grant of its carrier licence in 2007, OPENetworks became the first registered telecommunications FTTH and FTTP network carrier in Australia to service residential community developments. OPENetworks offers true open access on equivalent terms and conditions to all network access seekers (including carriers and carriage service providers). It does not compete with access seekers by providing its own retail services.
The community network solutions offered by OPENetworks are tailor made to meet a developer’s requirements and are scheduled according to the projects staging requirements. In addition to offering the basic services of telephony, broadband, PayTV and Free-to-air TV, a tailored solution can be developed to provide for services such as Closed Circuit TV connections to community areas, Community WiFi, community portals and future health, entertainment, education and security services.
OPENetworks and Fujitsu combine their respective expertise to deliver turnkey solutions to Greenfield sites including residential community developments, multi-unit dwellings, commercial/industrial estates and municipalities. The FTTH and FTTP solutions and services offered include: network concept and design, equipment supply and installation, network build, operation and maintenance, as well as the management of all regulatory requirements for the network.
The networks implemented by OPENetworks are supported by Fujitsu (http://www.fujitsu.com/au/ ), who are a global leader in network services with tier one network management customer service standards. Fujitsu provide all operation and maintenance network services, as well as network design, integration services and customer service assurances.
