 Comms Pit

In the street adjacent to the property boundary to your lot there is either a communication pit or a lead in conduit stub which feeds from a communications pit across the road.
This has been pre-provisioned to allow connections of your home into the fiber network.
Inside this pit there is a fibre cable and in every 2nd or 3rd pit in the street is a junction point for connection of a fibre into your new home. This fibre connection is made by OPENetworks but your builder needs to provide a conduit connection into this comms pit or conduit junction point.
If the communications services pit falls in a location where you wish to locate a vehicle drive way then it is the builders responsibility to upgrade the pit lid by adding a trafficable collar and trafficable pit lids. Driveways should be located 1m from the edge of the communications pit.
